UPDATED 22 SEPTEMBER 2026

Privacy policy

This policy explains how Hovolo handles information when visitors read the site, contact the editorial desk or use a browser feature. It applies to Hovolo pages published from Seoul, Republic of Korea, and is written for an international readership. It does not govern external websites linked from Hovolo. The site is informational and does not ask readers to create investment accounts.

1. Scope and controller

Hovolo is responsible for the editorial website and contact channel at 35-1, Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul 06164, Republic of Korea. The listed phone number is +82 10-3847-5912. Questions about privacy may be sent through the contact page. We use this policy to explain categories, purposes, retention and rights in a way that can be reviewed without specialist software.

2. Information collected

When a visitor reads a page, the hosting environment may receive an IP address, browser type, device information, requested URL, timestamp and basic security logs. When a visitor uses the contact form, Hovolo receives the name, email address and message supplied by that person. We do not intentionally request wallet keys, account passwords, precise location, financial account numbers or sensitive identity documents.

3. Purposes

Information is used to deliver pages, prevent abuse, answer enquiries, investigate technical faults and understand aggregated readership. Contact details are not used to send promotional campaigns unless a person separately requests an editorial update. We do not sell contact submissions or use them to make automated eligibility decisions.

4. Legal basis

Depending on the visitor and context, processing may be based on providing a requested communication, legitimate interest in security and site operation, consent for optional cookies, or a legal obligation. Consent can be withdrawn by rejecting optional cookies or contacting the desk. Withdrawal does not invalidate processing that occurred before it.

5. Retention periods

Security logs are normally retained for up to 90 days. Contact messages are retained for up to 24 months after the last substantive exchange, unless a longer period is needed to document a correction or legal matter. Cookie choices remain in the browser until removed or replaced. Editorial correspondence selected for a public correction may be retained with identifying details minimized.

6. Service providers

Hosting, security, email delivery and basic analytics providers may process limited information on Hovolo’s behalf. Providers receive only what is needed for their function and are expected to apply confidentiality and security controls. Hovolo does not authorize providers to use submitted messages for unrelated advertising.

7. International transfers

Internet infrastructure can route information through jurisdictions outside the Republic of Korea. Where a service provider processes data internationally, Hovolo seeks contractual, technical or organizational safeguards appropriate to the service. Visitors should understand that no internet transmission can be guaranteed completely private.

8. User rights

Subject to applicable law, a person may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or information about processing. A request should identify the relevant email address and describe the request; Hovolo may ask for reasonable verification. We aim to respond within 30 days, explaining any lawful reason a request cannot be completed.

9. Children and sensitive data

The publication is not directed at children under the age required by local law, and the contact form should not be used by children without appropriate permission. Do not send health information, identity documents, private keys or other sensitive material. If such information is received unnecessarily, Hovolo will seek to delete it securely.

10. Security

Reasonable measures include access limitation, encrypted transport where available, software updates and separation of editorial roles. No measure eliminates every risk. If Hovolo identifies a material incident involving personal information, it will assess the facts and take notification steps required by applicable law.

11. Complaints

Visitors should first contact Hovolo with a clear description of the concern. A person may also contact the relevant Korean privacy authority or supervisory body in their place of residence. We will cooperate with lawful requests and keep a record of material complaints for up to 24 months.

12. Changes

This policy was reviewed on 22 September 2026. Earlier material versions may be retained for internal accountability. Future revisions will show a new date and will not silently expand processing in a way that contradicts the explanation provided here.

13. Contact procedure

Use contact.php or write to the postal address above. Include the subject “Privacy request,” the right being exercised and a safe reply channel. Do not include passwords or financial credentials. This procedure is intended to make a privacy request practical for readers in Korea and elsewhere.

For practical purposes, ordinary server logs are retained for up to 30 days, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, preserve evidence or comply with a lawful request. Contact correspondence is normally retained for 24 months after the last substantive exchange, then securely deleted or anonymised unless an unresolved matter requires a longer record. A deletion request may be limited where retention is required for legal claims, security records or accounting obligations.

Our service providers may include the hosting provider, email delivery provider and security or traffic protection provider. They receive only the information needed for the stated service and are expected to protect it under contractual or statutory duties. Hovolo does not intentionally transfer contact information to advertising brokers or use it to infer sensitive characteristics.

Visitors in the Republic of Korea may contact Hovolo to ask what personal information is held, request correction, request deletion where permitted, or object to a particular use. Requests should include enough detail to identify the relevant correspondence, but should not include passwords, private keys or identity documents unless a lawful verification process specifically requires them. We aim to acknowledge a privacy request within 7 calendar days and provide a substantive response within 30 days, subject to complexity and applicable law.

International readers should note that hosting or email infrastructure may process data outside Korea. Where that occurs, Hovolo seeks contractual safeguards, access controls and confidentiality commitments appropriate to the service. A cross-border transfer does not change the purposes described in this policy.

Questions may be sent through the contact page or to 35-1, Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul 06164, Republic of Korea, with the phone number +82 10-3847-5912. If a concern is not resolved, a person may contact the relevant Korean privacy authority or another competent regulator in their place of residence. This policy was reviewed on 22 September 2026; material changes will be shown with a new review date and a short explanation.

The scope also covers information generated when a reader follows an internal link, submits a correction request or contacts Hovolo by telephone. Such records may include the date of contact, the page concerned and the minimum correspondence needed to respond. Hovolo does not intentionally collect biometric identifiers, precise geolocation or information about a person's private keys.

Security logs are ordinarily retained for 30 days, while contact correspondence is ordinarily retained for 24 months after the matter is closed. A limited record may be kept longer where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, respond to a regulator or document a security incident. When the retention period ends, information is deleted, aggregated or de-identified using reasonable administrative controls.

The hosting provider, email service and security provider may process information on Hovolo's behalf. These processors receive only the data needed for their stated function, use access controls and are expected to maintain confidentiality. Hovolo reviews processor access when a service changes and does not permit a processor to use contact submissions for its own unrelated marketing.

A request to access, correct or delete personal information should identify the relevant email address or correspondence and may be sent through the contact page. Hovolo aims to acknowledge the request within 7 calendar days and respond within 30 days, although identity verification or a lawful exception may affect the timing. A request should not include a password, wallet key or full identity document unless a lawful verification step specifically requires it.

Some providers may process data outside the Republic of Korea. Hovolo uses contractual confidentiality, restricted access and reasonable security measures for such transfers, while recognising that the laws of the receiving country may differ. This policy was reviewed on 22 September 2026; material changes will show a new date and a concise description of what changed.
